Appalachian English
A dialect of the English language native to the Appalachian region of the United States, often derided for its grammatical inconsistencies and perceived lack of education of its speakers.
The inhabitants of the cabin would then reply "Who's here?" which – in the Appalachian English of the early settlers – slurred into "Who'sh 'ere?" and thence into "Hoosier?" Source: Internet
