duplicate bridge (uncountable)
The commonest variation of contract bridge in club and tournament play, in which the same deal of cards is played at each table and scoring is based on relative performance.
Examples
In duplicate bridge, there is a bonus for winning a game, or 100 contract points, which awards as a bonus 300 points if not vulnerable, and 500 points if vulnerable.
In both rubber and duplicate bridge, the declaring side is awarded 20 points per odd trick for a contract in clubs or diamonds, and 30 points per odd trick per for a contract in hearts or spades.
