Noun
E-road (plural E-roads)
A main road or motorway in Europe which is allocated an E-number. Many of these roads cross international borders.
In the 1990s, Albania opened up to the rest of Europe, but only ratified the AGR in August 2006, so its integration into the E-road network remains weak. Source: Internet
As a result, the E-number is signposted only on the highway portions of the E-road network, while for non-motorways only the national number (if any) is shown. Source: Internet
Most often however the European numbering system for the international E-road network is used. Source: Internet
