Noun
Hass avocado (plural Hass avocados)
A cultivar of avocado with dark-green bumpy skin that turns purplish-black when ripe.
It’s actually the world’s most popular avocado cultivar, which was named after California postman Rudolph Hass, who grew the first tree of its kind from a seed he bought in the 1920s and patented the Hass avocado in 1935. Source: Internet
