Examples
Most Ilkhanid buildings, though now weathered to a monochrome dusty brown, were once covered in glistening glazed tiles, which Iranian builders had made at least since the 12th century in dark and light blue.
Found in an illustrated copy of Al-Bīrūnī 's The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries (17th-century copy of an early 14th-century Ilkhanid manuscript).
Some of the earliest Ilkhanid examples are exceptions to this.
