God is not some Aristotelian Unmoved Mover who merely contemplates upon himself. He is not merely a self-knowing God, but an other-loving God forever working through history for the establishment of His kingdom.
As opposed to the most widely accepted forms of Christianity, Whitehead emphasized an idea of God that he called "the brief Galilean vision of humility": "It does not emphasize the ruling Caesar, or the ruthless moralist, or the unmoved mover.
The first mover's motion, too, must have been caused, but, being an unmoved mover, must have moved only toward a particular goal or desire.
