Weddell Sea
Part of the Southern Ocean, its land boundaries defined by the bay formed from the coasts of Coats Land and the Antarctic Peninsula.
Much of the southern part of the Weddell Sea is permanently covered by the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf.
In 1995 and 2002, the Larsen A and B ice shelves collapsed, depositing an area the size of half East Falkland into the Weddell Sea. Source: Internet
