Yolngu (plural Yolngu)
A member of an indigenous Australian people inhabiting north-eastern Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia.

The Pama-Nyungan lects spoken by these people, when regarded as a single language or language group; the Murngic languages.
However, since the passing, in early 2011, of a Manggalili-clan man whose name sounds similar to yiḏaki, Yolngu themselves now use the synonym mandapul to refer to the instrument, out of respect for the deceased. Source: Internet
